Inspections
A mold inspection is not a home inspection although the entire house or commercial building can be examined.  A mold inspection concentrates its entire effort into finding mold and moisture intrusion.  Have a look at our Services section for a greater break down of
our inspections.
The use of an Infrared Camera helps find these points of interest.  The IR Camera is used as a tool for all of our mold inspections.  To learn more about infrared, look further into this site
.
Along with the aesthetic problems of mold contamination (musty odours, ugly patches), you must also consider the structural damage mold can cause.  Mold's main fuction on this earth is to break down dead, organic matter.  When mold spores make it into the home or workplace (they are always present) and are given the right environment in which to thrive, the mold will treat the building components (studs, insulation, drywall etc.) as it's food source causing the structure to break down.
Make sure mold is not the cause of health problems!

Health issues can arise with exposure to mold spores that have entered the air.  The most common symptoms associated with exposure to elevated mold spores are allergies.  These can include but are not limited to:

Exposure to mycotoxins (toxic chemicals that are a byproduct of mold growth) can have a negative impact on the human body.
Toxicosis is a diseased condition resulting from poisoning.  Dramatic and carcinogenic effects have been recorded in animals and humans exposed to high levels of mycotoxins in laboratory studies.  Symptoms of exposure to mycotoxins may include:

The individuals that have the greatest risk for adverse health effects of mold would be infants and children, the elderly, pregnant women, immune compromised patients and people with respiratory conditions.

If you suspect mold growth is the cause of health issues, please contact your Health Care Professional.
